www.theage.com.au/articles/2009/06/05/1243708623515.htmlOk, the Australian Satirical show "The Chasers War on everything" recently performed a skit belittling children dying of cancer and the work of the make-a-wish foundation. Ending with the tag line "Why spend money on them if they are dying anyway" The have been suspended for at least two weeks by the abc due to the incident. Did they go too far? Is the punishment appropriate? How could the ABC allow this sketch to go through in the first place? I think they have gone too far, and though some of their more shocking stunts have been funny and smart this one, was just cruel. I'm unsure if we'll actually see them on TV again, and if we do than there ay be format and/or line-up changes.

It was just a joke, any money you have told a worse one at some point in time. Yeah, I'm horrible like that but I don't broadcast it nationally. They have a duty of care to be responsible for their actions in the public eye and they can't stop the backlash.

The ABC has a duty of care, the chasers film the thing and the ABC is the one that has the responsability to judge whether it is apropriate or not.

I think they did go to far but they are comedian's and australian humour is a little rough. Just blame the shows editors for not stopping the show from running..
