Now I know this isn't technically proper reporting but I thought this had it's place in the watch section anyway. Satirical news shows like the Chase, The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with John Stewart. Often take the piss out of the media while giving their own opinoin on the issue at hand.
What do you think of these shows and do you think that they have some grounding in the legitimate media?

they are worth a look, you need to get a look at both sides of things, these shows offer a better look at things than the news program

I think that they are trying to get they're point accross by making their oppistion look like idiots. Thus invaldating they're oppistion's point.

I tend to agree, they both give us entertainment and also bring forth their contention and some evidense. Although, most of their evidence is brought forward in the aim of making opposition look like idiots so that isn't totally valid.

Its a contradiction, really. A paradox. Like Microsoft works... Or Military Intelligence

Over here in the UK, we have things like Charlie Brooker's Newswipe; this, essentially, takes the mick out of reporting, and often gives a clear, sometimes rudely blunt, view on the week's news.
We also have Have I Got News For You? where panelists look over the week's stories and give their views; a good laugh at times, with lots of smaller, funnier stories.
It's good to look at the news a different way; you end up missing things otherwise.

That sounds the exact same as a show we have over here called 'Good news week'. They probably lease the idea of the same people. EDIT: Spelling

HIGNFY and Mock the Week are great shows in the UK. They're essentially political comedy, and it's good as you get entertainment and political education in one show. And Mock the Week has awesome comedians on, and I want to go see it filmed next series if I can get tickets.

Wew have a new show over here called the 7PM Project. It's pretty much the same thing exept that it lacks the comedy.
